Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and Ludia Announce The Bachelor & The Bachelorette Videogames

BURBANK, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and Ludia Inc. today announced a deal to create and distribute videogames based on the hit reality TV dating shows The Bachelor and The Bachelorette, from Warner Horizon Television and created by Mike Fleiss. The worldwide licensing and distribution arrangement will launch the videogames across multiple platforms following the conclusion of The Bachelor’s 14th season in 2010 on the ABC Television Network.
"The Bachelor and The Bachelorette are extremely popular on television and we are looking forward to bringing the properties into the videogame space,” said John Quinn, Executive Vice President, Worldwide Operations, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. “These games are meant to engage fans of the show and the wider public beyond television, enriching the overall entertainment experience around the brand.”
“The Bachelor and The Bachelorette are first-rate licenses in reality TV’s dating genre, which is a hugely popular category with television viewers,” said Alex Thabet, Ludia’s founder and CEO. “We see great potential for the segment within the context of video games, and look forward to our collaboration with Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment to deliver a true-to-show game experience on a wide variety of platforms.”
The Bachelor and The Bachelorette videogames will be distributed in retail by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and in digital formats by Ludia.

Toronto nicknames

TO or T.O. – from Toronto, Ontario, or from Toronto; pronounced "Tee-Oh". Sometimes used as T-dot, T-dot-O, or T-dot O-dot.

The Megacity – referring to the amalgamation of the former Metropolitan Toronto.

The Big Smoke – originally a nickname for London, England.

Five reasons why this is the greatest moment in Happy Days history.

1) It stars Tom Hanks. And I'm talking about the real Tom Hanks. The friggin' awesome Tom Hanks. Not the wig wearing, Oscar toting, obsessed-with-the-ruddy-moon Tom Hanks.

2) Arthur Fonzerelli gets taken down a peg. I love the Fonz, but I think we can all agree that this was long overdue.

3) Ted McGinley as Roger Phillips. His presence tells us that this show, which is clearly a mere shell of it's former self, will mercifully come to an end soon.

4) The fashion. At this point the producers of the show have completely abandoned the idea that Happy Days takes place in the 1950s.

5) No GD Joannie and Chachi.

The Great NCIS Conditioning Experiment of 2009.

About two months ago I realized that I had run out of TV shows to watch. My love affair with Monk seemed to have run it's course, I was on a down cycle for the various Law & Order franchises and primetime television from the big four networks had absolutely no appeal for me. I had tried to watch the show NCIS a few times but for some reason it just didn't take. It felt trite and even silly at times even though it was supposed to be an action/drama. For some reason though, I kept going back to it and trying it over and over. I think the reason that I focused on NCIS is because it airs three times daily down here, and if I could tap into that resource of television viewing, simply by volume, I would be set for a very long time. So finally, with nothing to watch, I decided to try an experiment. Could a person, simply through subjecting themselves to a barrage of exposure to a TV program that they don't like, condition themselves to enjoy said program? Would it be possible for me to Stockholm Syndrome myself into liking NCIS? I didn't know, but I was determined to find out.

Now I want to be perfectly clear about this. I had no intention of subjecting myself to anything unpleasant ala Alex in A Clockwork Orange. What I decided to do was have NCIS on in the background at all times possible. I began by setting my TiVo to record any and all things NCIS. I even chose to record it over Pardon The Interruption a favorite program of mine which conflicts time wise with one of the three daily NCIS episodes (not that much a sacrifice really... the sports world is dead right now). Once I accumulated a few eps, I began playing them constantly. It would play while I would surf the web or make phone calls; I would pause the program when it was time to go out, and then when I returned it went right back on the tube. At first I didn't pay much attention to it, but every once in awhile I would hear a gunshot or some raised voices and I would glance up from the computer screen to see what all the hubbub was about.

After a few days of this I found my interest developing into more than just the occasional peek. The characters started to become more familiar. Instead of just a bunch of chatter and noise I started to single out specific people. There was the chatty one, the zippy goth, the dork from MIT and the Jewish killing machine. The triteness/silliness that once so annoyed me became somewhat endearing, and at times quite amusing. As time continued I found myself watching entire episodes, enjoying them, and even putting time lines together.

At this point I can safely conclude that the great NCIS conditioning experiment is a resounding success. NCIS is now my favorite show (I s*** you not), and I love the fact that I have three of them in my TiVo inbox at the end of the day. My friends Tony, McGee, Ziva, Ducky and Abby are all there waiting to entertain me and be my wonderful, dependable little companions. I am the Patty Hearst of mediocre television drama and I'm pleased as punch about it.

Saturday Morning Quick Hits

Hello all,

We are just three weeks shy of the first NFL Preseason game and I'm really quite pleased about that. This is the sports dead zone we're suffering through right now. No NFL, NBA, NHL or College. Ugh. I guess I'll just continue with my Half Life 2 obsession and maybe I'll pick up a good book. Time for the links.

1) The release date for Bioshock 2 has been pushed back to 2010. You know what? I have no problem with that. I want 2K to take as much time as they need to make the best game they can. If there's a game out there that shouldn't be rushed, it's this one.

2) Top 15 Horror Films Of The 2000s. This is a VERY good list and I was surprised that they out the wildly underrated Inside on there.

3) Here is footage of Resident Evil 4 as played on an iPhone. Pretty impressive.

4) Ubisoft has opened a fourth Canadian office, this one in Toronto.

Good morning, people.

I gotta tell ya gang, life's pretty good these days. I've been working at the food bank which is very rewarding, I've been getting in touch with people from my past, and I finally got the truck nuts installed on my car. No complaints here. Time for some quick hits!

6) Megan Fox continues her spree against douchy director Michael Bay in this video, in which she essentially calls him a retarded, pedophilic man-child. Sounds about right.

7) Here are tips for sleeping comfortably on a hot night.

8) Researchers have found that swearing profusely can actually help alleviate physical pain. This kind of sucks for me, because I just gave up cussing for good.

9) Ryan Reynolds has been cast as the Green Lantern. No problems here - love the guy.

10) Fancy Fast Food dares people to purchase fast food items and try to create an elegant dish from them. No easy feat. I'm thinking of trying this - I'll keep you posted.
