The weapons are better. The plasmids are better. The enemies are better. At some points, even the storytelling is better. What’s most amazing and surprising about BioShock 2, however, is that by diving deeper into Rapture’s tortured history and exploring more of Rapture’s haunted world, it actually manages to make the original BioShock better, too.
GamePro
Still, BioShock 2 not only re-captures the dystopian aesthetic, gripping narrative, and deep gameplay of Irrational's original, but it actually greatly improves on the BioShock experience as a whole, fine-tuning what made Jack's voyage to Rapture such a memorable experience two years ago.

A thrilling story, inspired new characters and environments, refined gameplay and yes, even the multi-player, make diving back into the Atlantic an easy decision.

BioShock 2 isn't a groundbreaking follow-up that rewrites all the rules laid down by its predecessor. No, think of it as a sequel that fills in the gaps, adding exciting new dimensions to what's come before... You will be utterly absorbed. [Mar 2010, p.68]
TeamXbox
The original BioShock is a hard game to top, and BioShock 2 doesn’t quite do it. That doesn’t mean it isn’t one of the best games of this still early year, or that it won’t still be considered to be one of the best come year’s end.

BioShock 2 is the general improvement of the first title. Everything about the gameplay is better, from the action to the level design. The plot is involving and the player has a continuous sense of progression with new weapons, monsters or plasmids. But there are several problems from the technical aspects to the aquatic sections of the game and above all BioShock 2 is a constant deja-vu. It is wonderful, very wonderful but not wonderful as the first game.

On its own, then, BioShock 2 is a brilliant, if not-particularly-brave shooter story. But as a complement to the exciting and iconic original, it's a predictable but technically excellent second chapter to an unmissable FPS pairing.

Hell yea!!!
Great news today for those of you with a Playstation 3. You're getting Netflix*!
This will mean Microsoft no longer has an exclusive relationship with Netflix, which has been available for a year for Xbox Live gold accounts. It's worth noting that whereas you need a $50/year paid account on the Xbox 360 to take advantage of Netflix (pictured), now it will be a part of Sony's free online service. However, Netflix won't be built into Sony's media crossbar interface. Instead, you have to put a disk into your PS3 whenever you want to watch an Instant View movie.
The service will roll out later this year. Sign up here to receive one of the disks as soon as they're available.

Madden Curse Takes Its Next Victim
September 11th, 2009 - 9:05 pm ICT by GD -
John Madden is one of the best rugby players of all times. He has been a star player throughout his career in the NFL.EA Sports has launched a series of video games and to honor the yesteryear NFL star they have named their video game after him. Strangely enough whichever NFL player in today’s times features in the cover of the game invariably gets injured in the very next season of the NFL. Hence, this is known as the Madden Curse.
It may sound very superstitious to many but the recent NFL match between the Steelers and the Titans has seen Steelers Star Troy Polamalu getting injured. Incidentally, Polamalu shared the cover space of the game with another NFL star, Fitzgerald. It is reported that, Polamalu has injured his knee during Thursday night’s opening NFL match and is expected to remain off the field due to this for at least three weeks if not more.
The star NFL players who faced the same fate as that of Polamalu in the previous years are, Daunte Culpepper in 2002; who missed five games due to injury, Marshall Faulk in 2003; who missed six games and was never again seen to run for 1000 yards, Michael Vick in 2004; who broke his leg and missed eleven games, Ray Lewis in 2005; who got injured and missed one game, Donovan McNabb in 2006; who missed the last seven games of the season, Shaun Alexander in 2007; who broke his foot and missed six games.
Vince Young in 2008; who missed one game.
It only remains to be seen if Fitzgerald will face the same fate as that of Polamalu or not!
