Quick Hits

Good morning, gang!

Far Cry 2 is something else, boy. Probably the best graphics I've seen in a game to date, at least when it comes to the natural elements. There is a ton of driving around which can get a little tedious, but at least the view is spectacular. I'm off to the food bank again today. Check out this pic I took of one of our lil' volunteers catching some ZZZs. Wake up little buddy! There's work to be done! Here are some links to check out.

1) I love a good internet rivalry, and Film Drunk vs. Neverending Story Van Woman is as good as a rivalry as there is out there. So funny.

2) How to make pancakes like a crackhead.

3) Good Old Games is a website that sells old school PC games for next to nothing. Awesome. All games are aquired through download and there is no DRM, meaning you can install it as many times as you want on as many computers as you want. If you are a PC gamer, this is a must to check out.

4) Here are some alcohol cooking substitutions for those of you who don't like cooking with the hard stuff, or don't want to shell out the cash for it.

5) Top 10 greatest cornerback tandems. Apparently Ty Law & Asante Samuel aren't good enough to make the cut. Thppt.

6) Altuse is a worldwide repository of alternative uses to extend the utility of everyday products. Handy stuff here.

7) Here are the movies out in theatres today.

District 9
The Goods: Live Hard, Sell Hard
The Time Traveler's Wife

Personally I think The Goods has the makings of a classic. And I mean a real classic like Caddyshack, not one of those crappy new "classics" like Old School (in the 90s they started throwing the word "classic" at just about anything).

Here's Desafinado by Laurindo Almeida. I'm really enjoying these 60s Bossa Nova style instrumentals these days. Marvelous stuff. Have a terrific weekend.
